Sorry, but work has pretty much
ruled out updating this site much. I'll try to add comments
as much as possible.
Notes from visitors in September:
Q: Love your site! Just got a 2001 330cic and love it so
far. I have a dead turn indicator and cant seem to get the
unit to release - can't tell whether to push release tab left
or right - any hints?
A: t's confusing, isn't it? Glad you figured it out despite
the illustrations in the manual, which aren't clear at all.
Whatever you do, don't use the tools that come with the car
when trying to push down the tab. The metal section (that you
insert into the screw) is so loose that I nearly lost it down
my fender.
Q: Really have to give you props for this web site. It's
a great resources for those of us who just drive the cars and
don't over-mod them. On that note however, have you done any
mods to your car? I've got a cold air intake and a short shifter
kit, but that's it.
A: Thanks for visiting and for the kinds words. I haven't
done anything to my car except change the tires. I'm perfectly
happy with it the way it is.
Q: 2002 mdel I cannot get my auto convertible to close. When
I try there is a clicking sound trunk won't auto open either
(only manually) Doed this sound familar?
A: Thanks for visiting my site. That sort of sounds familiar,
although I had the opposite problem.
What you might try first (and you probably already tried this)
is to make sure the little compartment in the trunk where the
top rests is down. There's a lever on the right underneath
near the trunk hinges. That actually worked for another visitor.
If that's not it, check the red light that shows up next to
the button that lowers the top. If it's continuously flashing
or otherwise not off when you aren't pressing the button, you'll
probably need to have someone look at it.
I basically had the opposite problem. My top wouldn't lower,
which is NO FUN if you've never had to hand crank the top closed
using that little allen wrench.
About the trunk...
Again, I have the opposite problem. I'm not sure if it's the
key transmitter malfunctioning, but I suspect it is. I'd try
your second key to see if that solves the problem. My keys
are a year older than yours, so you may have a similar problem.
