A: Thanks for the note. The answer is probably "never" since I fully plan on driving it into the ground (or for the next three years).

If you're interested in buying it, you're first in line. As gas prices rise and my commutes lengthen, I'm sure I'll eventually have to reconsider...but it's just so much fun to drive every day.

Gas hits $4 a gallon in the San Francisco bay area.

Monthly Gas Bill - $291 per month
I calculated out my monthly gas bill (using 24 mpg, which is my average mileage according to the car's computer), and it's getting kindy high.

Calculating out the cost of switching to a Toyota Prius, however, doesn't make sense yet. That would be $155 per month + $438 payment = $593.

Switching to a Toyota Yaris (bare bones model) would be $355 per month, although not very comfy.
